CLEAN OCEAN ACTIONS
The air we breathe: The ocean produces over half of the world’s oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere. Climate regulation: Covering 70 percent of the Earth’s surface, the ocean transports heat from the equator to the poles, regulating our climate and weather patterns.
How can we clean the ocean?
Here are a few tips:
- Organize beach, river bank or land cleanups (you might also be able to find Facebook groups for established initiatives in your area)
- Reduce your use of disposable plastics (use a reusable water bottle, use a reusable grocery bag, get into some ‘do it yourself projects’ to reduce packaging, etc.)
Through clean water, children smile again with a restoration of hope and faith in the future.
